About me.

Hi, I’m Ashley :)

I’m a playwright and interdisciplinary artist, originally from Texas but currently based in Toledo, Ohio. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Baylor University.

I began writing plays my senior year of high school and took a class for the first time in the final year of my undergrad, which was the first time anyone had read my work out loud.

I fell in love with that feeling; the feeling of words on paper coming to life, an idea in my head living, breathing, and moving before my eyes. So cool.

I define my writing style as an evolution of postmodernism, shaped by contemporary influences and themes. Neo-postmodernism, if you will.

I like to explore moments of isolation by magnifying their depth and impact through my work. I’m interested in themes of mental illness, loneliness, addiction, and other experiences in which people tend to find themselves feeling alone, though that is typically far from the truth.

As the world and myself evolve, so does my creative practice and approach to storytelling.
